Shawn Eichorst (Director of Athletics), Mike Riley and a crew of support staff made a stop to a few radio affiliates and pep rally. I tagged along to get cover the events. Below are a few photos
I also had a pretty sweet view during lunch that day …

Memorial Stadium, home to the Nebraska Cornhuskers Football team since the 1920s, has a tradition dating back to World War II. This t-shirt pays homage to the releasing of the balloons after the first score during each home game. The minimalist design works well as a simple screen print while still remaining impactful to all Husker faithful.
The shirts come in four colors. The traditional scarlet red for Nebraska, along with classic white and gray. Blue, a rare color for Huskers gear, plays well with the design and acts like the sky above Memorial Stadium.
Making it to The League, the dream of every college football player. The combine behind them, Pro Day, private work outs, dozens of interview, all leading up to one weekend agonizing over when, if ever, their name will be called and forever associate their talents and abilities as someone that would be an NFL draft pick.
The week started with some Motivation from Lincoln native, former walk-on, and current starting wideout:

Some of the content, full-sized:
The 2016 Nebraska Football pocket schedule is the first major piece of collateral to be printed and distributed for the 2016-17 school year. Hot off the press just in time for the Spring Game, it’s the first opportunity to set the tone for the upcoming season.
For 2016, I wanted to play with sketched and drawn looks. I integrated several drawing and coloring techniques along with a paper (and crumpled paper) texture to try and pull off the effect. As per tradition, each senior is featured on the cards. The cards were broken up by position group for 2016.

The NFL Combine extended an invite to four Huskers, two seniors and two juniors. Throughout the combine process, their story was tracked and promoted. Along with posting from official accounts, prominent alumni were leveraged to help tell the story, wish the athletes good luck, and reach a social vertical we couldn’t reach by ourselves.
The following images were concept pieces, but ultimately scrapped as they gave off a “funeral-like” impression … but I liked the clean look, so I’m going to pretend we did use them.
With an official invite, we opted to take an approach that was a little closer in “voice” to our regular season.

With just a few days left before National Signing Day 2016, the Nebraska Football coaching staff was looking for any “flossy” imagery that would help snag some last-minute attention to the program. Many of these images were altered with custom edits for each recruit in hopes to push them over the edge to Sign Big Red.
